The Hillsborough Grants Collaborative will now consist of Quarterly Workshops. The topics are described below. At the end of each workshop, we will have a Mentor’s Corner set up for one hour.
November 20, 2024: Journey Through the Grant Realm
The workshop offers a structured approach guided by experienced grant writers who will impart essential strategies for effectively navigating the intricate process of grant response. It can often feel overwhelming, especially when nearing the deadline, and you may find yourself questioning if your answers meet the funders' expectations competitively. This workshop serves as the natural progression for grant writers who have uncovered subtle insights from the August workshop.
February 19, 2025: Integrity-Using AI, Intellectual Property and other Ethical Considerations:
There is considerable discussion surrounding the use of AI in grant writing. What does the grant writing field think about its integration? What challenges arise when employing AI for crafting grant proposals? This workshop aims to provide participants with insights into the intersection of technology, ethics, and grant funding.
May 21, 2025: Budgeting Bootcamp
If you are looking to enhance your proficiency in grant budgeting, this workshop is designed specifically for you. Led by an experienced grant writer, it covers essential steps in developing a comprehensive grant budget, including the budget development process, hands-on budgeting exercises, and understanding the significance of the budget narrative, direct and indirect costs, and cost categories. Participants will actively engage throughout, gaining the skills and knowledge needed to construct competitive and effective grant budgets.
Mentor Corner:
After each workshop, a Mentor Corner will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign-up sheets will be provided upon arrival at the workshop. Expert grant writers will be on hand to address your specific questions about organizational grants, potential grant opportunities, unsuccessful grant attempts, or guidance on getting started. Please plan your queries so that Mentors can focus on addressing your most urgent concerns within 15-minute sessions (or longer if we have space and time depending on sign-ups and Mentors available at each meeting.
